About Me
Lara Rowland is the Founder of Women Against Violence and Expediency Handling Initiative, she holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Ibadan and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos. She has several years of experience in the social sector undertaking community engagements and project management through advocacy and capacity building. She is an advocate for women empowerment and gender equality. Her main focus includes sexual health/sexual violence and sexual reproductive rights of female adolescent and youth. She is a participant at the ongoing African Civic Engagement Academy an online program run by University of Georgia, USA. She is a mentor/ Judge with some foundations

About Us
Women Against Violence and Expediency Handling Initiative (WAVEHI) is a non profit, non-governmental Organization (NGO) established in 2017 with the main objective to raise awareness on the elimination of violence against women and girls.
Mission: Our mission is to support women and girls who have been through violent situation and going through violence. We sensitize members of the community on the need to eliminate (Sexual) violence against women and girls through the entrenchment of human rights and a clamour for social justice through social change.
Vision: *Protection for women and girls in domestic violent situation including female domestic workers and other vulnerable persons
*Provide support to women and girls facing intimidation due to gender issues
*Therapy and counselling for women and girls
*Advice on work and family related issues-challenge and discourage behaviours and attitudes that support violence, sexism or discrimination against women at work or family life (through advocacy and capacity building)
*Raise awareness on any form of sexual abuse on the female gender and sexual (health) reproductive rights
* Encourage and promote non-violent and respectful relationships for women and girls
We sensitize secondary school students on sexual abuse according to World Health Organization guidelines
We also sensitize on Sexual Health and Reproductive Rights.
